Beyond an extensive selection of instructional and repertoire materials for guitar (classical, gypsy jazz, fingerstyle, bluegrass, swing), mandolin, banjo, tin whistle, ukulele and fiddle, we often have featured titles from specialty publishers and select sources. Here's a sampling.
The Fretboard Journal
The Fretboard Journal has intelligent content and a paucity of advertising, so we give it our enthusiastic vote and have stocked it right from Volume 1. This magazine is brand new, published by some of the same folks who put out the Ukulele Occasional. The Fretboard Journal "captures the history, innovation and stories behind the world of guitars, banjos, mandolins and ukuleles." (Sorry, we currently only have the latest volume available. All earlier volumes are gone.)

Fiddler's Tunebooks
For fans of Irish and New England fiddle styles, these books are stellar collections of tunes. If you play for dances, they're "must haves." Ceol Rince na hEireann covers five volumes of Irish tunes. The Waltz Book is now up to three volumes of new and traditional waltzes. The Portland Collection, Volume 2 is now available, and the companion CD for volume 2 will be in stock very soon. And finally, The Fiddler's Throne, compiled by New England fiddle stalwart Randy Miller. More tunes than you can shake a bow at.

Sounding Harps Books
We carry all four volumes of the Sounding Harps series as well as My Gentle Harp, by Mercedes Bolger. These Irish publications are known for their respected arrangements of traditional harp tunes.

This book has become a standard at the local bluegrass jams so we're happy to have a good supply in stock.

Gypsy Jazz Recordings

Our CD selection has expanded to include an extensive selection of swing recordings along the lines of Django style jazz. In addition to rare Django recordings, we have classic historic recordings of jazz violin, jazz accordeon, and Parisian musettes, alongside contemporaries such as Romane, Patrick Saussois, Tchavolo Schmitt, Angelo DeBarre, Marcel Loeffler and Raul Reynoso (who hung out in our shop recently). We've managed to wedge all these CDs in between the sections on ukulele and western swing....
We also carry a knowledgeable selection of recordings featuring bluegrass, blues, old-time, Celtic, singer-songwriter, western swing, Hawaiian guitar and ukuleles, Cajun, Scandinavian.... (In short, the kinda stuff you don't hear at the grocery store.)
