Started in 1952, Guild Guitars has never had a flashy reputation--just solid, sturdy, a guitar that always does the job. Guild also introduced the idea that you can make a great plain-looking guitar. They were the first of the major guitar companies to offer a satin finish on a well-built guitar, helping to keep the price down without compromising the guitar structurally. Since then many other companies have followed Guild's lead. Guild also builds models that have become classics over the years.
