10-1/2" nickel silver spun over rim, calfskin head, 26-1/8" scale mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, pearl dot inlays. Reproduction No Knot tailpiece, otherwise appears to be all original, though the tuning pegs may be early 20th century replacements. VG-EXC, HSC $750

Slingerland May Bell Tenor Banjo 1920s
One of the nicer versions of this line,10-3/4" rim, 22-3/4" scale, 19 frets, walnut neck with three layer center lamination, engraved pearl peghead and fretboard inlays, tone ring similar to B&D Silver Bell, 24 hooks fit into groove in side of heavy tension hoop, decorated walnut resonator, original Presto tailpiece. Newer planetary tuners, some finish scratches and checking and a small area of damage/repair on back of peghead. VGC+, OHSC. $850

Made in Brainerd, Minnesota, maple rim, cast raised head tonering, maple neck and resonator , marqetry flower inlay on back and decorative marquetry pattern on sides, bound ebony fretboard with engraved block inlays, metal Strom medallion on peghead. EXC, HSC. $800

Walnut neck & resonator, bound ebony fretboard, slotted diamond fret markers, nickel plated rim and hadware, top tension, planet tuners. Some finish wear and weathering, structurally excellent. Currently tuned GDAE for Irish style playing. OHSC and hang tag. $450

Made by the predecessor to the Kay Co. 10-15/16" rim, 23" scale, deep birdseye maple resonator with floral decal on back, nickel plated cast flange. EXC, newer HSC $395

Vega Senator Plectrum Banjo 1922/1930
10-15/16" rim, two section mahogany resonator, 26 hooks and ball end nuts, individual flanges, 26" scale mahogany neck with bound pearwood fretboard. Neck is from 1922 (serial no. 48745), rim from 1930 (serial no. 91042). Dowel extended 3/16" to fit slightly larger rim, two small screw holes repaired in back of peghead, considerable wear to dyed pearwood fretboard but only moderate fret wear. Good sound and playability, overall VG-EXC.

Gretsch Plectrum Banjo c.1930
11" cast aluminum top tension rim, 25-7/8" scale walnut neck with w/b/w center laminations, pearl "torch" peghead inlay, ebony fretboard with large slotted diamond pearl fret markers, pearloid covered resonator with engraved and painted vine and flower pattern, original skin head and 2 to 1 geared tuners. A couple of shrinkage cracks in pearloid resonator veneer and some wear and tarnishing on rim plating. VG-EXC, OHSC. $450

10-3/4" rim plated brass shell and tone chamber, 27" scale ebony fretboard with ivoroid binding and large slotted diamond pearl position markers, walnut neck with 5 ply center lamination, walnut resonator. Some wear and finish checking and a small amount of veneer checking on back of resonator. VGC+, OHSC. $750

Gibson F-4 1924
A very nice example from the Loar era. Fine to medium grained spruce top, two piece curly maple back, red sunburst finish, single flower pot peghead inlay, truss rod and adjustable bridge. Some light playing wear, a few scratches including one long scratch on top but no cracks, structural damage or repairs. All original except new ebony end pin. EXC, OHSC. $9250
