GULDAN SPECIAL VIOLIN – c.1940
Made by the Jackson Guldan Co. in Columbus Ohio. This was their top model and is of more conventional construction than their standard models, with full blocks and linings. The top is of very fine grained spruce, the two piece back, ribs and neck are of highly flamed maple and the fittings are ebony. The red over gold varnish is heavily shaded on the back. $950
